1. Choose your characters
3 / 64Choose up to 64 unique Latin letters, numbers, punctuation or Chinese characters. A Chinese subset contains only the characters you list, plus a space.
2. Crop and map each shape
PNG or JPEG, up to 16 MiB and 4 megapixels. Use separated characters on a clean background. The file stays in this browser.
How image to font works
Import a clear image, set the crop coordinates around one character, and save it to the matching letter. Repeat until every chosen character has its own shape.
The font maker converts dark shapes into vector outlines, creates a character map, and packages a TrueType font. It does not identify an existing typeface or invent characters you have not supplied. Review every mapping, especially punctuation and Chinese characters.
Use the font finder to compare an image with existing font families, or the AI font generator for newly generated lettering and AI font experiments.
Before you download
Does this create a real font file?
Yes. The TTF contains vector outlines traced from the shapes you save. Install it or import it into software that supports TrueType fonts. It is a custom display font with a limited character set.
Can I include Chinese characters?
Yes, include individual Chinese characters in the character list and provide a shape for each one. The limit is 64 custom characters per font. This creates a selected subset, not a complete Chinese typeface.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Image validation, glyph conversion and TTF compilation run in your browser. This tool needs no account, API key or credits.
Can it trace any photograph or joined handwriting?
Use high-contrast, separated shapes. Decorative backgrounds, touching letters, extreme flourishes and noisy photos may need cleaning before import. Joined handwriting must be separated and assigned one character at a time.
